I'm sorry to open this thread again, unfortunately, I've also met the 5 fps problem, exactly as described a few postst above. Yesterday I was flying with TV_mode_50hz_625_lines - after first higher noise in distance I've got 5fps and I had to emergency landing. So I've tried the TV_mode_60hz_525_lines today, unfortunately, it's exactly the same (and maybe a litte worse - but maybe only because I've met more interferences today).
I'm using KX-171 PAL camera,
1.3GHz video TX from RangeVideo and
1.3GHz video RX from ElectronicaRC.
5 FPS mode came back to normal only by getting back to Media menu and selecting Composite input again. What's interesting to me, when I've got full frame rate, turn off and back on video transmitter, it didn't switch to 5fps mode. Only when I met some interferences during the flight...
Now I'm going to try old 1.18r firmware, but I'm not sure it will help...
UPDATE: I've tried also KX-191 PAL, it's exactly the same. Maybe it has something to do with receiver, not only the camera? I've tried all 3 firmwares, only old 1.18r looks working properly. I'm goint to try it in air... Must be a firmware issue, when 1.18r working and PAL wont, or not?
Exactly the same problem!
None of two PAL-fixes work. After noise or signal loss I've got low fps video.
Just have installed the 1.18r firmware - tried it and it seems to be okay after signal loss but it looks like the image is not so smooth as it was in 1.21.
upd: I use KT&C VSN-700 camera with 550 tvl and PAL standard.
Regarding PAL fixes:
-50hz fix - if I switch PCS on and then cycle power off and on again - it seems to be okay for one or two video Tx disconnections. Snow is freezed while video tx is off. If I switch off video tx for the 3rd or 4th time - video is shown at lower fps, not 5 fps but 15 or 20 maybe.
-60 hz - it doesn't need to be switched off and on and it work well for 2 or 3 disconnections of video tx. The snow is moving while the video tx is switched off. Then it works at lower fps like with 50hz fix.
So at this moment I can say that Headplay goggles are barely usable for FPV. I don't recommend to use them without backup screen - small TV or camcorder screen - you will need it while you reselect 'composite' in media menu in flight.
